The Junior League of Portland held the 8th annual JLP CAREs Volunteer-A- Thon event and the 3rd annual Harvest Soirée Fundraiser & Auction on Saturday, October 15, 2016! We thank everyone for a successful event. Look for details for next year’s event soon!
JLP CAREs (Junior League of Portland’s Community Action & Revitalization Event) is our premiere Volunteer-A-Thon fundraising event. The JLP CAREs Volunteer-A-Thon is a home grown event within our League where we activate League members to volunteer throughout the local community. In 2015, we had twelve JLP CAREs Community Partners from different areas of the Portland metro and a total of 680 hours were volunteered in that one morning. For 2016 we have extended our breadth of Community Partners to include Medical Teams International – thereby assisting our local community, our Pacific NW region and other parts of the world. The Volunteer-A-Thon is a pivotal aspect of JLP CAREs because it allows us as an entire League to stand tall together doing one of the key elements that the Junior League was founded for: Voluntarism.
After the Volunteer-A-Thon, we invite all to join us to celebrate the League’s successes at the Harvest Soiree. The Harvest Soiree will feature passed appetizers and a hosted open bar with a signature cocktail, beer, cider and wine, a DJ, a photo booth, professional photography, silent and live auction – plus all of your friends.
JLP CAREs donations and money raised at the Harvest Soiree go directly into the Junior League of Portland’s general fund in order to advance our mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the local community.
**Event is open to those aged 21+ only **
