End Domestic Violence

Following our focus statement to “end the cycle of Domestic Violence against women and children within our community”, the End Domestic Violence Committee provides ongoing volunteer assistance and support to four area non-profit organizations with domestic violence shelters.  The women of this committee plan and execute ongoing volunteer opportunities that deeply impact current and past survivors of Domestic Violence.  Such events include our annual crock-pot meal where Junior League volunteers provide a home-cooked crock-pot meal for survivors as well as a new crock-pot and Junior League of Portland crock-pot cookbook for each survivor to take home, an annual Thanksgiving and Mother’s day meal for two of our shelters, monthly birthday celebrations for the women utilizing shelter services, and many more.  Additionally, the committee members partner with the four organizations to develop and expand education and awareness campaigns.
